Tottenham made tough work of a Bolton side who could have easily sealed an impotent victory for them because (once again) the ref didn't understand the rules of football, but these days when someone goes to White Heart Lane ,except for one case this season, you don't come with anything but a point.
Player ratings:
Gomes - 6 some good saves but should have done a lot better with the goal.
Gallas- 7.5 Best defender on the pitch again but looked knackered by the end on of the first half.
Dawson-6.5 A few stupid tricks that could of cost to lose the match but an overall solid performance by him, deserves the england call up.
Corluka- 6.5 Better than hutton defensibly but still can't cross for his life.
BAE- 7 Constantly making interceptions and blocking cross, wish he cared more about not letting the other team scoring rather than chewing gum and nutmegging the entire midfield got to love him.
Lennon 8- Has been constantly good for us in the past few weeks switching from left to right causing both fullbacks problems all day long did surprisingly well on the left, single handedly won us the first penalty, THERES ONLY ONE AARON LENNNON ONE AAARON LENNNON...
Jenas- 8.5 Did surprisingly well considering he doesn't play with the first team that much, our spurs of the match over the last couple of games, a good team leader likes to get foward. One for the future.
Pa(ss)lacios- 6.5 Made some good tackles and got stuck in more than usual but still more wayward passes than anybody else.
VDV- 6.5 Fairly average, looked very tired scored 2 good penalties shame the ref was blind, should have done better with re-take could have won it at half time instead he came off at half time. Needs a rest.
Piennar- 6.5 Looked sharp, had a good opportunity to save the late kranjcar drama. Still not convinced that he adds anything to the team.
Pavlychenko- 6.5 Held up the ball well and set up the wonder strike, should start more often and get along with manager needs get back in scoring form.
Kranjcar- 7.5 Showed lots of skill in and around the box and scored a brilliant goal, Welcome back Niko!

Spurs Saved By Superb Kranjcar Again: Match Review and Extended Highlights (Valentines Edition)S
Niko Kranjcar produced another spectacular strike to fire Tottenham back into the Barclays Premier League's top four with a 2-1 victory at Sunderland.
The Croatia international, whose stunning goal saw off Bolton last weekend, blasted home a 57th-minute volley to claim all three points as Spurs came from behind to win on Wearside.
Player Ratings:
Gallas -6.5 The only thing he did wrong was changing his boots but still cost us a goal.
Dawson-7 Looking solid at the back at got us the goal.
BAE-6 Good defensively but a few silly tricks here and there but it would be wierd not to expect that from Benny.
Corluka- Even though a bit lackadaisical at time Charlie had and overall solid defensive performance, makes up the strong back line.
Jenas- 7 Looks like a real team leader and makes up the heart of the midfield.
Pienaar- 6 Hard working, committed and a certain amount of skill. But, unfortunatly, still doesn't look like a player we need.
Sandro-7 Had an unlucky first half but started to look a real player in the second.
Kranjcar- 8 Good skill, good power excellent shooting ability and got us the winning goal super super niko!
Defoe and Pav - 5.5 Rarley got a shot off and pretty much innefictive in both halves maybe we need Robbie back!
Subs:
Lennon and Palacios - N/A Didn't have time to show their strengths..

Spurs shock Milan again in a glory glory night for Tottenham: Match Review plus player ratings and Extended highlights.
Tottenham produce another top class performance to give spurs a major advantage going into the second leg of cracking champions league tie. Spurs were the stronger team at the San Siro
for most of the first half but Milan fired back in the second half and were unlucky to go infront with combined efforts hitting the bar and being saved by top goalkeeper Gomes kept us in the game, until Aaron Lennon raced down the pitch flying past Milan's players and then slotting selflessly to Peter Crouch who tucked away for our first, deserved, champions league victory at the San Siro.
Player Ratings:
Gomes- 8.5 Did relatively nothing in the first half but pulled off some top class saves in the second with only one or two blunder, bit of a harsh rating oh well. Brazilian magic.
Dawson and Galls - 9 Kept the likes of Ibrahimovic and Robinho quiet in the first half, and some heroic defending in the second. Top class.
Corluka- 8 Did really well i thought and linked up with Lennon well, unfairly tackled in the second half. Unlucky but good defensively.
BAE- 7.5 Did well getting fowards but his final hoof into the box wasn't top class if you ask me although no real defensive blunder. Average.
Lennon- 9.5 Superb in both half's and caused the left back problems every time he got the ball, set up the goal and did most of the work. Brilliant.
Palacios and Sandro- 9 Didn't expect them to do too well after they both haven't shown their best in recent foKrm but put endless pressure on the Milan defense and had and terrific work rait. Laborious to say the least.
Pienaar- 7 Held up the ball well at moments and caused the defense some trouble as well and linking up well with Benny. Solid performance.
VDV- 8 Had worked his socks in the first half and produce some good shots in both but was rightly subbed in the end. Quality.
Crouch- 8.5 Had got some good headers in the first half and caused the defensive boundless amounts of trouble and comfortably slotted away the winner. Effective.
Subs:
Woodgate- 7 Experienced and carried us through the last 20 minutes. Experience.
Modric- 6.5 Looked good but didn't get that much time on the ball considering it was down at our end for the last 10-15 minutes. Assured.
Krancjar- 7.5 Was upset he didn't start instead Pienaar but still looked skillful and Croatian in front of goal. Excellent
In other words not one of our player played badly and they gave 100%.

Tottenham Settle for a point at Wolves: Full Match Review + Player ratings and Extended Highlights
Well didn't that take us by surprise? I expected the exact opposite of what happened, a fairly low scoring game where our midfield made loads of chances but didn't score any of them and then Wolves scrape a point or three. Even when we went one nil down I didn't expect any change; until of course I witnessed Defoe realizing he's a striker and should probably score a goal or two before the end of the season. Pav then obligingly followed with a fantastic strike, and then we, being Spurs, muck it up in the end. Interesting and disappointing at the same time.
Player ratings:
Gomes- 5.5 Not good enough if you ask me, I added half a mark for that fantastic save he made in the first half, but otherwise appalling and was lucky their goal was disallowed.
Dawson-6 Looked good at the back with Gallas and was strong in the air.
Gallas-6.5 Added experience into the defense. Good job Billy.
Hutton-4 Absolutely appalling if you ask me. Alright going forward but no real cover at the back and fairly shit (excuse my French Billy) was rightly booked for the penalty could have easily been red. Got ripped apart by Jarvis, Needs to be replaced in the summer. Lucky boy.
BAE-5.5 His usual twists and turns but better at getting forward than getting back.
Modric-7 Looked dangerous going forward and seems to be the start of every Spurs move. Welcome back Mods.
Jenas- 6.5 Same as Modric with a little less quality but set up the third goal and seems to link up well with Pienaar.
Pienaar-6 Better thins time from the little South African, good going forwards but the ball seems to always to be stuck on his feet, created a chance or two.
Sandro-6.5 Starting to look like an important midfielder for us this season, committed runs going forwards and strong challenges. Excellent.
Defoe-7 Whooooooo do yyya knnnoww, wait i didn't recognize Defoe at all from the way he played, super runs going forward , lots of chances and two great goals!
Pavlychenko-6.5 Looked better going forward and scored a great goal, till don't think he cuts it as a 'striker' in the top flight but still looked alright.
Substitutes:
Krancjar-6 Looked alright but didn't have enough impact on the match.
Bale-7 Looks like he's recovered well from a back injury to teach some a Italian pensioners a lesson or two by the looks of it.
Lennon-6.5 Creating his usual dangers of pace and agility but couldn't do any thing to impact hugely on the game. Should start against Milan.
If you had asked me before the game if it was a must win I would of said yes, but shining through the disappointed is not only that we have a cracker at the Lane on Wednesday. Its that so many players are deciding to starting playing football again, and bale back!
Extended Highlights:
Wolves steal 2 points from Spurs
Tottenham experience another 'one of those days' as the battle for fourth fades away from them: Full match review with player ratings plus full match highlights.
Tottenham and Jermain Defoe, in particular, were left disappointed with a 0-0 draw against London rivals West Ham United in their race for fourth place.
Defoe was wasteful in front of goal, missing chance after chance as Tottenham missed out on three points that they needed as they battle Chelsea and Manchester City for a place in the Champions League next season.
Dawson-7 Did fairly well alongside Billy Gallas and could have almost had the goal of the season!
Gallas-7 Solid defending although does looked naturally fatigued all the time.
BAE- 6.5 Lobbed the ball forward when needed, no real defensive blunders to speak of.
Corluka- 6 Was doing well until the took him off in place of a drunken scotsmen!
Sandro-7 Starting to settle in well with our style of play provides a lot of hard work and commitment for the team, top quality midfielder....he's only Brazilian though!
Modric- 8 SUBLIME performance by the Croatian clever, accurate passes; good skill and footwork. The prems finest! Whats not to like!
Lennon-7.5 Did well on both sides, cutting in on the left and showing off magnificent pace on the right, single handedly made the best chance of the game while proving a great midfielder. Good work Azza.
Bale- 6.5 Good to see him back on the pitch and playing again, did well in the first and almost curled in a screamer in the second........average by his standards.
VDV-6 A frustrating performance for both yids and player, rafa came to deep at times when he should be banging them in at the other end! That compiled by the fact he stormed down the tunnel when he was subed . Angry Vaart.
Defoe- Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? Why can't he just shoot instead of trying to copy rafa, was screaming at the tele at the end. Match of the pointed out that he was wearing a victory shirt underneath his kit, Lets hope it doesn't get dirty come the end of the season.
Subs:
Hutton-5 Redknapp must of lost it if he decides to bring on possibly one of our worst players ten minutes from time, crazy drunken Scotsman. Did nothing of note.
Pavlychenko- 5.5 Ditto above, at least had one or two shots before time.
Match Overview:
Looking at the match now we have to take the positive from it:
1. We were by far the better team.
2. We played fast exciting football ahead of our trip to madrid.
3. Bale is back.
4. At least we got that one out of the way.
